We had already done two rounds of leadership with youths and students, but we still felt something was left. We perceived that women were marginalised enough to uplift that by becoming an integral part of the Women Leadership Campaign. We decided to work on women’s empowerment through this campaign. This campaign was dated for 3 days, from 19 Dec to 21 Dec. More than 100 women were refraining from this due to several reasons, but we had the support of Arpan Pokhrel, Ward Chairman, Ward 4. He helped women understand how beneficial it is and how important it is for women to be able to understand leadership and put it into practice. Expert Sanjib Poudel with a team accompanied by 15 volunteers helped them to understand and practise various aspects of public speaking and presentation. It was proved to be beneficial for women in locality, as it helped them to identify their strengths and weaknesses in mass engagement and presentation. It was motivating for them to stand firm in public to express themselves far better and to actively participate in various social services confidently.
